What is Lakshmi Havan?

Lakshmi Havan is a powerful Vedic fire ritual performed to seek the divine blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, peace, and abundance.
The ritual involves the offering of lotus seeds (Kamal Gatta), panchmeva (five dry fruits), red flowers, and worship through 108 names of Goddess Lakshmi.

When Should Lakshmi Havan Be Performed?

This havan is especially recommended when:

  • There are financial difficulties, debt, or scarcity in life

  • There is a desire for peace and prosperity at home
  • On Diwali, Sharad Purnima, Akshaya Tritiya, or Fridays for auspicious results

  • Sugar candies (Batasha), Mishri
  • Mauli (sacred thread), Roli (vermilion), Turmeric, Akshat (rice grains)
  • Lotus seeds (Kamal Gatta) – specially offered to Goddess Lakshmi
  • Red / pink flowers
  • Idol or picture of Goddess Lakshmi
  • Ganga Jal (holy water)
  • Honey, milk, curd
  • Panchmeva (cashew, almonds, dates, dry coconut, raisins)
  • Red cloth

Special Mantras & Offerings

  • “Om Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah Swaha” – to be chanted during offerings
  • Lakshmi Ashtottara Namavali – chanting of 108 sacred names of Goddess Lakshmi
  • Kanakdhara Stotra, Shree Suktam, and Lakshmi Suktam
