Benefits of Saraswati Havan
Duration of the Havan
For a basic Saraswati Havan, the time required is about 1.5 to 3 hours in a single day.
The total duration depends on the number of mantras chanted (e.g., 1,100 or 27,000) and the number of priests involved.
General Havan Samagri (Materials Used)
- Havan Kund (ritual fire pit)
- Desi cow ghee
- Panchmeva (5 dry fruits), mishri (rock sugar), honey, betel nut, betel leaves
- Flowers (especially white and yellow), fruits, rice grains (akshat), roli, turmeric
- Coconut, Ganga water, lamp (deep), sacred thread (kalava)
- Idol or image of Goddess Saraswati; symbolic items like veena or a book
- Materials for Ganesh puja, Navgrah puja, and Saraswati mantra chanting
